Classic antique Toastmaster toaster, S/N 1236273 (manufactured September 1948 - April 1949 based on serial number). The first Toastmaster 1B14 was manufactured in 1947 and sold for $23.50 (a very expensive item at that time, frequently given as a wedding gift). This unit was purchased by my parents and is almost as old as I am.

Although this toaster still works, it is best used as a display item. It would be safe to use only if a qualified electrician restored it and at the very least replaced the power cord.
