1. Installs electrical conduit, wiring, switching devices, controls, outlets, fixtures, motors and other such equipment.
1.Inspects, tests, adjusts, repairs and maintains all plant machinery, heating, cooling, piping and electrical systems.
2.Prepares accurate records for preventative maintenance.
3.May work as a plumber in assembling, installing and repairing pipes, fittings, and fixtures of heating, water and sewer systems; and in opening clogged drains
4.Acts as a carpenter in the alteration, repair and maintenance of buildings, floors, roofs, stairways, partitions, doors, windows, screens, scaffolding forms, wood fixtures and furniture.
5.May operate handsaw, planer, joiner, shaper, table saw, wood lathe, drill press, sanding machine, router and electric drill.
6.May operate Bridgeport and Metal Lathe.
7.May operate Welding and cutting equipment.
8.Removes ice and snow from walkways, roads, roofs and parking lot during winter months.
9.Follow all department and company safety regulations at all times.
10.Perform other reasonably related duties as assignment by immediate supervisor and other management as required.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Demonstrated ability to work with hands and to work in mechanically oriented situations following instructions of a supervisor; general knowledge of various types of equipment used in the building trades; ability to work with little or no supervision; ability to follow instructions, given either orally or in writing; working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, construction and air conditioning equipment. Considerable knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the trades involved. Ability to interpret and work from pencil sketches and diagrams.
Acceptable Training and Experience: At least two years of experience in building and plant maintenance. Sufficient education to read and write in order to follow detailed written instructions. Experience in the field of general repairs, including minimum of one year’s experience in carpentry, plumbing, electrical repairs and air conditioning. Completion of a related course of study from any accredited technical or trade school having acquired the knowledge of methods and techniques used in the maintenance field. Any equivalent combination of training and experience.
Certification and licenses required: Forklift certification. Electrical/plumbing license helpful.

•Ability to lift weights of up to 50 lbs. and maneuver weights up to 100 lbs.
•Be able to withstand high temperatures of 120 Degrees and high humidity for short periods of time and low temperatures of 0 Degrees Fahrenheit with some wind for short periods of time
•Be able to tolerate strong odors such as burnt wiring or fragrant additives to adhesive
•Ability to work in and around areas with sticky glue, grease, dust, dirt and waste materials.
•Ability to work in awkward positions when repairing/ replacing machinery and construction
•Ability to work from elevated heights as in rooftops, platforms, scissors lift and ladders.
•Be able to work long hours and full weekends if necessary.
•Be able to multi-task = having numerous projects started in various phases of completion and being called for emergency repairs.
•Must have use of both hands.
•Able to mount and dismount forklift in a safe manner.

•High heat and humidity working in the boiler room and around steam related parts including the Laminator drums
•Extreme cold when salting / shoveling sidewalks and servicing exterior equipment
•Greasy, dirty equipment covered with sticky glue and possibly dripping wet.
•Sewer and restroom service.
