Key Responsibilities
• Operate track excavators and related heavy equipment on utility construction sites
• Perform excavation, material handling, loading/unloading, and rigging
• Execute deep excavations using trench boxes, shoring systems, and sheeting
• Maintain safe excavation practices, including protection of personnel and existing utilities
• Conduct daily equipment inspections and follow all site safety requirements
• Work closely with field supervision to complete work safely and efficiently
Qualifications
• 5+ years of excavator or heavy equipment operating experience
• Ability to read plans and adapt to field conditions
• Strong safety awareness and team-oriented mindset
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Able to perform physically demanding work, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
Preferred
• Experience in trenchless construction methods
• Prior welding experience is a plus. If there is no experience, willingness to learn the welding trade.
• CDL Class A (preferred, not required)
Travel Requirements
• Ability to travel to construction sites within the region, NY, PA, NJ, WV, TN, MI, VA, MA as required.
• Overnight stays more than 75% of the time.
• Hotel accommodations paid for plus a daily per diem
• Reliable transportation to and from work
• Valid driver’s license is required
